If it's set, k is solved so the curve ends there, and
coolingRateConstantPerMin is ignored:
k = ln((T₀ − T_a) / (T_end − T_a)) / t. An end equal to the start gives
k = 0, which is the fixed-temperature integral. An end above the start,
or at or below ambient, isn't a cooling curve, so the stand is treated as
held at the start temperature.
